I just wanted to throw this out there for the traveling surfers. Of course getting a good board bag is of utmost importance but beyond that; a few tricks can reinforce your board and save you from having a shocker after you open your board bag.
I am putting a link to an article from Surfing News Daily. I kind of frown on re-blogging but this article has some tips from myself so I guess I was a contributor. See how popular I am! Ha ha!
The article is here:

One helpful tip to note is creating two lumps on both sides of the board(s). It will really help to keep the luggage handlers from putting the nice flat case on the bottom and then piling suitcases on top of the flat surface.
Hope this helps your valuable cargo arrive in condition to rip some waves!
Thanks for the shout-out Steve. Less than three weeks now before Nate heads to Portugal for three months, using your packing tricks AND a board bag.
By the way, you mentioned one of your Feb posts from Brazil that you can now get FU wax in the U.S. but on the forums everyone’s saying you can’t. Did you find it somewhere here? Let us know!
I am pretty stoked for him. He will be catching waves galore there!
I will find out about the FU Wax and where it is carried at in California. I know it is in Red Dog Surf Shop here in New Smyrna Beach. I have an e-mail with the reps name in the states. Info will be out soon!
