Noise to Note!

Howzit!

Over the course of this sites’ inception, I have tried to keep things somewhat related to surfing. I have tossed in some travel stories and a few other motivational tales but surfing has remained the underlying theme. Can I possibly break the trend?

I follow another blog and the author of this blog has on occasion branched out beyond the norm and has covered other topics such as beer. So after some deliberation, I knew that I had to follow suit. So I sat on the beach the other day and began to ponder what I could write about…

Arts and Crafts?  A poor choice. I can barely draw a “hand turkey” so writing about this subject would be career suicide.

Football!  Another poor idea. Then again, who covers flag football? Well…never mind!

Marine Life?  I once worked at a marine life park and I could tell tales of me being fondled by a penguin or how I had a whale spit water on my back!

Come to think about it, 90% of my readers have never stopped work because there was an anteater on a leash in their office so this is another dumb idea.

Music!!

Now we’re talking!

So every week I will put up a video of some obscure song. Maybe you will know the band and it will bring back some memories of the days of old. It could be a new band as well. I promise that it will not be ordinary! I have a pretty varied taste in music as you will get to see.

To start it off, I am putting up 2 videos! Why? Because you have to see how far off my sense of music is.

First I present…

The Hoodoo Gurus! Australia’s kings of the 1980’s surf videos.

The second video is the Ka ‘au Crater Boys singing Carly Rose. Being from Hawaii, this band has always reminded me of home. This is a wonderful song about his niece sung in both English and Hawaiian.

Amazingly, both bands have something to do with surfing so I failed to defy tradition. Maybe next weeks choice won’t!

Enjoy and have a good weekend!
