Noise to Note!

I have been posting a lot of 80’s and 90’s music to hit the old nostalgia vote. But like with the Electric Smile Band, sometimes you discover someone is just getting started and is waaaaaaaaay under the radar.

Lorde is a girl from New Zealand who has been on the “artist development” roster for a while for a big record company. Ella Yelich-O’Connor (Lorde) writes her own music and for a person still in high school; she has a cool outlook on things. She prefers minimalism in her music.

This song is about being comfortable in your setting even if it means not being rich. The chorus speaks about how popular music glorifies a lavish lifestyle which she feels is a distraction to living your life as it is.
