Are the Flood Gates Opening?

Summer Dull-drum

As dull as dull can get around here. Summer has not been kind to the good old Atlantic Ocean and probably worse for the gulf. Normally the gulf basin has already sent us some tropical activity but not this year. Only one early season storm and then it just shut off.

In my neck of the woods, it has been day after day of thigh high dribble. For the kids it has been a mecca of riplets and the surf camps have been loving it. For us older types, it has been a sad state of affairs with many booking flights out of the country.

But is there some sign that Poseidon is poised to end this all?

Wax Up the Guns?

A storm is coming across the Atlantic and its name says it all. Tropical Storm “Dorian”!!! Not a good sign because Shane Dorian is a Hawaiian big wave maniac and this could be the storm that sends 40 foot surf to Cocoa Beach. Worse, if Shane Dorian arrives, then we are in real trouble ala Jim Cantore to a hurricane. If Jim and Shane both arrive…we are talking a complete apocalypse! Worse than Sharknado!

Well, I need to calm down. The forecast map only shows the track to be…Nooooooooooooooooo!!!

We're doomed!

We’re doomed! Photo stolen from Marco Polo @ 2ndlight.com who stole it from Dorian’s Instagram.

Just so one understands the significance to a storm named Dorian…here is a short video of Shane Dorian catching a wave.
