We had one entertaining year. Some gold amongst the piles of filth. The high points were incredibly high. The lows were like the lows of the previous years.
Everyone is different. Your plan might not work for me as my plan might not work for you. I have made the choice to let go of the negatives in my life and just focus on improvement. So I will carry with me memories of the good things that happened this year. As for the negatives, unless they can help me grow then they are being taken to the curb for garbage pick up.
The Book and the Plant
I went to a concert once for a band that was popular many years ago. As I arrived, I saw many people my own age that seemed to have been locked in a chamber for 25 years. They still had hairstyles that were popular back when the band was in their prime and unfortunately some of the men did not have the thick head of hair they had years ago to support what they were trying to pull off.
I love things from my past. I really do. But I also know that one can not be stuck in it. That is why the book and the plant sum up my personal philosophy. I want to continue to learn and do new things. Many things I know I will do badly at but I have to try. Growth is essential.
As for the plant…
Personal growth is never easy and like a plant; growth can be hard to comprehend. We all want to see fast results. This creates frustration and eventually can lead to a person just giving up.
In life, sometimes we are growing but in such minute quantities that it can not be noticed from day to day. If you look at a plant every day, you will hardly recognize that it is growing. But if you come back in a month and look at it; the difference will be obvious.
The most important thing to do is to plant the seed and nurture it.
If you do this and concentrate on this instead of seeing instant results, the growth and change will come.
Have a Happy New Year!
